American Express to buy restaurant booking platform Tock for US$400 million

CREDIT card giant American Express said on Friday (Jun 21) it would buy Squarespace-owned restaurant booking platform Tock for US$400 million in cash.

The deal underscores AmEx’s push to build its prowess in the travel and entertainment market, which is one of the biggest spending categories on its cards.

Tock offers reservation, waitlist and table management services to nearly 7,000 hospitality businesses. REUTERS
