A source previously signaled that the breakup came as a surprise to Josh.

“All marriages have their ups and downs,” the insider told E! News July 26, “but Josh never expected his relationship with Christina to end like this.”

The medically retired cop and real estate investor had “devoted the past few years to Christina and her kids,” the source said, adding that “24/7, his social, professional, and romantic lives revolved around Christina.”

Before their split, the two filmed the HGTV series The Flip Off, which they were set to star opposite Tarek and his wife Heather El Moussa.

“Now that they’ve split, we hear he’s spending some time in Nashville, where he’s been hitting the gym and attending church regularly,” the insiders said about Josh. “He’s focusing on finding the light at the end of the tunnel as he has to completely start over.”
