Oh please, I had to see that picture of Trudeau on the front page of the SUN before I had coffee the other morning. What a waste of ink. It should  have read ‘Dope on the Ropes,’ because I’m sure he couldn’t box his way out of a wet paper bag. He is such a coward and has hidden from everything major issue in Canada since he’s been in office. Where’s he been lately with a pipeline blockade in Northern B.C., both Canadian railways striking and the looming Air Canada pilot strike? He may be toothless when Poilievre goes toe to toe and beats the pants off him in next year’s election. Singh will be in Trudeau’s corner cheering him on so he doesn’t miss out on getting his golden pension, hopefully he goes down for the count as well.

(Sorry to upset you before your coffee.)

No responsibility here

Once again Calgarians find themselves under a level four water restriction. And although we’ve gone through this level of extraordinary inconvenience back in June and July, the city still finds it necessary to suggest that if we don’t do our part by conserving our home and business water usage, then we could be responsible for finding ourselves in an even more dire situation where we may not have enough pressure or water to meet our daily needs. Yes, we would be responsible.

Here we are almost three months after the catastrophic feedermain failure in Bowness and yet there has not been anything remotely resembling an apology from the city for putting us in this situation as a result of not maintaining our water infrastructure system. So, I guess the city figures if there is no responsibility and accountability, then there is no need to apologize. But if the pressure drops or we run out of water, then the city will hold Calgarians responsible. How noble of them.

(How could we possibly expect an apology, they haven’t decided who to blame it on yet.)

Scrap the Plaza plans

Re: Engraved Bricks From 1988 Games Won’t Be Part Of New Olympic Plaza…

Our left-wing, money-thrift, liberal politicians love spending taxpayers’ money at all three levels of government in this nation. In context to the redesigning of Olympic Plaza, the whole idea is as ‘thick as a brick’. Perhaps scrapping the whole idea of redesigning the plaza and using some of the money to financially assist local businesses in the Bowness area should be proposed. They are, who lost revenue by this on-going water saga this summer.

Donald K. Munroe

(How noble, but council wants to have a legacy, and keeping the city’s small businesses afloat just isn’t the same as a plaque downtown.)
