She will spearhead digital innovation and AI opportunities for businesses in the country
[SINGAPORE] Meta has appointed Nicole Tan as its new country director for Singapore, with effect from Jun 2, 2025, the company said on Tuesday (Apr 22).
Tan has more than 25 years of experience in the industry. She will focus on accelerating digital innovation and empowerment across industries, harnessing artificial intelligence (AI) to unlock new business opportunities, as well as supporting Singapore’s digital economy, said Meta.
The company said Singapore is an important market for the tech giant, given the city-state’s role as a centre for innovation and regional collaboration.
Benjamin Joe, vice-president for South-east Asia and emerging markets at Meta, said: “Nicole has a deep understanding of what businesses and communities across South-east Asia need to thrive in a digital world.”
Tan will replace Damian Kim, who will transition to a new position within Meta’s Asia-Pacific team, the company said.
Prior to her appointment, Tan led Meta’s operations in Malaysia for nine years, where she spearheaded initiatives to expand cross-sector partnerships and accelerate digital adoption. She is also an active advocate for women in tech and marketing, and has contributed to mentoring and talent development programmes in South-east Asia.
Before joining Meta, Tan held senior leadership positions in Malaysia and China in the marketing sector.
Tan said: “Singapore is a dynamic market that is spearheading South-east Asia’s digital transformation.”
She added that she is looking forward to working with the team and help more people and businesses unlock growth through technology.
