Facility includes advanced two-storey automated sorting machines that can sort up to 7 million parcels a day, the highest for SPX Express in Vietnam

[SINGAPORE] SPX Express, Shopee’s logistics services, and Frasers Property Vietnam have signed an agreement to develop a 170,000 sq m sorting centre in Hung Yen province, Vietnam. It will be SPX Express’ largest facility in South-east Asia to date.

The project will commence in the third quarter of 2025, with completion targeted for the fourth quarter of 2027, the two companies announced in a joint statement on Wednesday (May 28).

The facility will include advanced two-storey automated sorting machines that can sort up to seven million parcels a day – the highest for SPX Express in Vietnam – improving delivery efficiency.

Additionally, vehicles can move independently on each floor, allowing many to load and unload at the same time across 158 docks connected to more than 700 sorting destinations.

Once developed, the sorting centre is expected to generate thousands of jobs, stimulate local economic growth and improve Vietnam’s national logistics infrastructure.

Located in Frasers Property Vietnam’s Industrial Centre Yen My, the sorting centre aims to improve operational efficiency, enhance service reliability and support the expected demand growth of businesses and shoppers from the region.

“This new facility is a step forward in our ongoing efforts to meet the evolving needs of consumers and small businesses,” said Quyen Tran, SPX Express Vietnam’s director.

Truong An Duong, Frasers Property Vietnam industrial and residential general manager noted that the new facility sets “new benchmarks” for the country’s logistic landscape.

The development of a new sorting centre comes after the completion of a 106,000 sq m sorting facility in Binh Duong Province of Vietnam earlier this year.
