Netflix fans are mourning a beloved star.
Eternal Love star Alan “Yu” Menglong died Sept. 11 following a fall from an apartment in the Chaoyang district of Beijing, China, his team confirmed in a statement. He was 37.
“With unbearable sorrow, we announce that our beloved Menglong fell to his death on Sept 11,” the statement on Weibo, a Chinese blogging site, per Asia One, reads. “Police have ruled out any criminality. We hope he rests in peace and his loved ones remain strong.”
Menglong had several acting credits including The Legend of the White Snake, Love Game in Eastern Family, and Go Princess Go—the latter for which he gained national recognition in China.
Despite solidifying himself as an on-screen star across Asia, Menglong began his career in the music industry, competing on several China-based competition shows including My Show! My Style and two seasons of Super Boy. In the latter season, which aired in 2013, Menglong made it to the top ten contestants, and later released a single “Just Nice” following the experience in 2014. The next year, he released his debut album, Toy.
