Wall Street’s main stock indexes opened higher on Monday (Jul 1) ahead of manufacturing PMI numbers, with focus also on data later in the week for some evidence of a weaker labour market to firm up bets around interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 67.34 points, or 0.17 per cent, at the open to 39,186.20.

The S&P 500 opened higher by 10.60 points, or 0.19 per cent, at 5,471.08, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 41.29 points, or 0.23 per cent, to 17,773.90 at the opening bell. REUTERS
