Re: Human rights chief quits before 1st day on job, Aug. 13

Shame on the Liberals, who were more interested in using DEI in appointing antisemitic Birju Dattani than properly vetting this very questionable candidate. Only after an outcry from the Jewish community did Dattani do the right thing and resign.

We all remember how the Trudeau government also failed to properly screen former Nazi Yaroslav Hunka who embarrassingly ended up in Parliament during the visit of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. That fact was reported around the globe!

No wonder the current rise in skepticism about the Trudeau government properly security screening refugees and asylum seekers. National security has never seemed to be a top priority of the Trudeau government that it should be.

(Their screw ups have really hurt our reputation globally.)

RAMPANT LIBERAL ANTISEMITISM

Re: Trudeau gov’t no friend to Jews; Revokes charities’ status, but alleged terror-linked groups still legitimized, Warren Kinsella column, Aug. 13

It’s no surprise to me that antisemitism is rampant in the federal Liberals. Human rights commissioner Birju Dattani had to resign after public outcry over his past antisemitic statements. If that particular job offer isn’t the epitome of the utter ineptitude of the Trudeau Liberals, I don’t what is. Then there is also the well-known antisemitism in many of the public sector unions, two of which immediately took it upon themselves to announce their support for the Liberals defunding the two Jewish charities. It’s disgusting.

(It’s a rough situation.)

RED TRIANGLE

Re “Critics call for red triangle to be banned as hate symbol” (Bryan Passifiume, Aug. 14): Canadian Tire, the arguably most iconic Canadian company, has now been put in the sights of cancel culture due to its inverted red triangle as a symbol. I would hope the loony left does not go down that road. Of all their nonsense, this truly would be a step too far.

Edd Sloggett

(The extreme left ruin everything)

IT’S ON US

Re “Liberal gov’t refuses to say if it OK’d bonus for CBC CEO” (The Canadian Press, Aug. 15): Hmm. I see. So we don’t know one way or the other, yet only one answer would be truly damaging. Like, ‘I would rather not say whether or not I stole that money from our workplace. Who wants to go for coffee? My treat!’ OK! Got it.

Monique Simandl

(The Trudeau Liberals take no responsibility for anything and Canadians will have an opportunity to hold them accountable at the ballot box)
