US: Wall St opens higher ahead of US-China weekend meet

[NEW YORK] Wall Street’s main indexes opened higher on Friday (May 9) as investors assessed fresh remarks from President Donald Trump regarding US tariffs on China ahead of a key weekend meeting between the two countries.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 37.0 points, or 0.09 per cent, at the open to 41,405.48.
The S&P 500 rose 15.7 points, or 0.28 per cent, at the open to 5,679.65, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 94.4 points, or 0.53 per cent, to 18,022.549 at the opening bell. REUTERS
