Tough guys
Isn’t the U.S. such a powerful nation! Let’s face it, they haven’t won a war of any consequence since WWII. They were taken to a draw in Korea, got embarrassed in Vietnam, beat up the mighty nation of Granada, interfered into the affairs of many Latin American countries failing miserably every time, made the Middle East far worse, left Iraq in a mess, got defeated by ISIS after 20 years in Afghanistan and bombed Iran after Israel did all the dirty work for them. And now it’s Venezuela’s turn. Every time the U.S. sticks its nose into the affairs of other nations, the world becomes a far less safer place. And Greenland, Colombia, Panama, Cuba and even Canada better look over their shoulders because the U.S. will try to make a mess of them as well. Maybe they should pick a fight with a formidable foe like China and then let’s see what happens. The U.S. needs to fix their own backyard before attempting to control the rest of the world.

Getting it right
The U.S. mission to apprehend Nicolas Maduro was the absolutely correct thing to do, for the security of Venezuelans and Americans alike. The heated debate over this action is coloured by the acute hatred some overly vocal opposition has for President Trump, regardless of anything he may do that is necessary and required. Maduro has illegitimately stayed in power after losing the 2024 election that saw Edmundo Gonzales win the majority of votes. Maduro is guilty of destroying the Venezuelan economy and subjecting the people to food and medicine shortages, poverty, killings, false imprisonment, and high levels of violence. All of this constitutes crimes against humanity, yet the Trump haters are focused on disapproval of the order and the method to remove the despot Maduro. Only supporters of terrorism and Trump haters could possibly think this was not the right move. Their protests, vocal or otherwise, declares to the world who they really are.

Thanks, boys!
After visiting a grave site at Queens Park Cemetery on Tuesday, my vehicle became stuck in deep snow after numerous unsuccessful attempts to free it. Some City of Calgary men were working nearby and came to our rescue. Equipped with shovels and a bucket of gravel they were able to get my vehicle out, then made sure we were safely on our way. Thank you, guys, for helping a couple of damsels in distress. Who says male chivalry is dead?!
