This ongoing financial fiasco over the truncated Green Line is clearly out of control and it is becoming increasingly apparent that the current mayor and council do not have the ability or sensibility to put this LRT line to nowhere on ice, immediately. Spending $6.3 billion on a 7 stop public transit line is such an unprecedented gross misuse of public money that there is very little to distinguish that reckless spending from an outright criminal act.
This Nenshi inspired public transit vision has been ill conceived, ill planned and ill managed since day one. Yet the current mayor and council seem to be drinking the same Kool Aid.
Perhaps it’s time for Alberta Municipal Affairs Minister Ric McIver to intervene and bring a halt to the ongoing insanity at City Hall, just like he was compelled to do with the political chaos that was so rampant in Chestermere last year that resulted in the Mayor and several Councillors being fired.

This has got to stop, and the sooner the better.
We simply cannot afford to wait until the next civic election in October 2025.

Help local newspapers
I keep reading about local newspapers and publications struggling to stay in operation because of loss of revenue from social media feeds. All because Trudeau deems them to be not trustworthy. I suppose the upshot from this will be further funding to CBC sources to provide us with unbiased, reliable news. Oh joy!
Come on Facebook, X, Google and Trudeau, get a deal done. And Trudeau, back off from this Orwellian state.

Leaving the past behind
Congratulations to The city of Calgary and any others responsible for successfully removing all traces of our western identity. Names like the Corral, The Roundup Centre and finally the Sadledome are all lost.
We had a very special and unique city like no other in Canada. Thanks to You we are now like any other big city.
And what about blue sky city? I am so disappointed and disheartened about what has become of our city. I hope there are more Calgarians who feel the same.
Shame on You, shame on all of You.
