You’d be hard-pressed to find a more compelling character in World Wrestling Entertainment these days than Liv Morgan.
The 30-year-old New Jersey native, whose real name is Gionna Jene Daddio, is mere weeks shy of marking her 10th anniversary since signing with WWE. She’s the current Women’s World Champion and is embroiled in arguably the most entertaining storyline happening in wrestling at the moment as a member of the newly formed Judgment Day stable, where she’s the love interest of Dominik Mysterio.
The storyline, much like Morgan’s slow and steady rise through the ranks of WWE, is percolating nicely, with fans clamouring for more.
While Morgan hasn’t been an official member of Judgment Day for long, having joined after she and Mysterio aligned officially at SummerSlam with Mysterio choosing Morgan over his longtime Judgment Day teammate Rhea Ripley, Morgan’s addition and the revamping of the stable has been a hit.

Morgan, who will be in Calgary on Monday when WWE brings its flagship Monday Night Raw to the Stampede City, said there are a lot of pieces that have made the love triangle storyline between herself, Mysterio and Ripley work so well.
“I think first and foremost, the components in making something like this work, I think, are respect, comfortability, honesty, open communication, which luckily I have in this scenario,” she said in a telephone interview. “So it’ll be very fun and very easy to do what we’re doing.”
It also helps, Morgan said, that it’s been a while since WWE has had an on-air love storyline.
“I think it’s been a while since we’ve had an onscreen couple and onscreen relationship, so I think it just gives that feel that maybe some fans feel like they’ve been missing, because who doesn’t love a good, messy love triangle?” she said with a chuckle.

Morgan’s ascent in WWE has been meticulous. Where some talent, such as Ripley, or the likes of Ronda Rousey or Charlotte Flair, come aboard and skyrocket to the top of the card, Morgan has had to work hard, stay patient and put the work in to find her way to the top, where she now sits as one of WWE’s most popular talent. Her Liv Morgan Revenge Tour, current persona and tie-in with Judgment Day all have helped her in her rise.
As have so many others, she said.
“I feel like I’ve had so much help along the way,” she said. “I mean, I’ve had an almost 10-year-long career here in WWE, so to say that I’ve been helped is a complete understatement. So many people, I wouldn’t be able to name, between the talent, the coaching, all the others, the medical team, you know just everyone across the board. I’ve received so much help, as you can imagine.”

But, she said, she wouldn’t change a thing.
“It’s been a journey,” she said. “It hasn’t been linear at all. It’s been full of so many ups and downs and twists and turns and things that I didn’t expect along the way, but I’m exactly where I’d always hoped I’d be, so I’m extremely happy and just trying to do my best.”
On Monday, Morgan and company will arrive in Calgary, home of the Harts, with the legendary Bret (The Hitman) Hart slated to make his return to WWE TV.
“I hear that Bret Hart is going to be there Monday, which I think is going to be so iconic,” Morgan said, admitting that talent does recognize when they’re performing in cities like Calgary, which have a special history when it comes to pro wrestling.
“I feel like I wouldn’t be doing my due diligence if I didn’t obviously acknowledge and respect the history if there is any history that comes with every place that we visit,” she said. “This Monday is for sure going to be special and I’m very happy to be there. Calgary always brings the energy, so we’re excited for the next stop on the Liv Morgan Revenge Tour.”
