JUMPING FROM SINKING SHIP

Four more Trudeau cabinet ministers have announced they will not stand for re-election, whenever the next election may occur.

Notwithstanding the usual reasons for not running again — spending more time with family, etc. — the real truth is these departures show how committed these people are to their own backsides and that they aren’t committed to supporting the federal Liberal party’s philosophy, record, direction and prospects now that the going is tough.

Clearly, the latest and any future departees do not have the integrity to “stay the course” with the good ship SS Trudeau. It makes one wonder why they have hung on so long to a party they now repudiate in heavy seas. However, it’s routine for rats to leave a sinking ship. Going down with the ship is obviously not a Liberal strength.

TRUDEAU’S TESTIMONY

So Justin Trudeau testified at the foreign interference inquiry the other day. He brought up the fact that Pierre Poilievre refused to get the security clearance needed to access certain reports. Pierre did that for a reason, and that’s because anyone given access was sworn to secrecy and couldn’t divulge anything, including the names of those potentially compromised. So much for the “open and transparent government” that Trudeau promised if elected.

Funny that while Trudeau continues to harp about his “protecting democracy” (sorry, I can’t even write that with a straight face), he is targeting our democracy and freedoms every single day. Canadians have the right to know the names of those involved in election interference, whether or not they are still in politics.

And where is the RCMP in all of this? Oh, that’s right, if Trudeau hasn’t given instructions, then it just waits until he does. That once-proud organization has a lot of work to do to regain the respect it had in the past.

So, after watching Bret Baier interview Kamala Harris, vice-president of the United States of America, two songs popped into my head. At first, I was going to go with Nat King Cole’s Ramblin’ Rose, but realized I could do much better.

Kamala Harris’ campaign song should be Bob Seger’s Turn the Page.
