Wall Street’s main stock indexes hit record highs in the run-up to an interest-rate decision from the Federal Reserve on Thursday (Nov 7), extending a sharp rally sparked by Donald Trump’s stunning comeback as US president for a second time.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 11.0 points, or 0.03 per cent, at the open to 43,718.92. The S&P 500 rose 18.2 points, or 0.31 per cent, at the open to 5,947.21, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 101.0 points, or 0.53 per cent, to 19,084.428 at the opening bell. REUTERS
