US: Wall St opens slightly higher as caution prevails in data-packed week


Wall Street’s main indexes opened flat-to-higher on Monday (Dec 2), with focus on a slew of economic data this week, while Intel shares rose after its CEO retired following its struggles to keep up in the market for AI chips.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 15.2 points, or 0.03 per cent, at the open to 44925.86.

The S&P 500 rose 7.7 points, or 0.13 per cent, at the open to 6040.11​, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 37.3 points, or 0.19 per cent, to 19255.425 at the opening bell. REUTERS
