US: Wall Street opens slightly higher as investors assess possible tariff exemptions

WALL Street’s main indices edged up at the open on Tuesday (Apr 15), as investors assessed the possibility of tariff relief for the auto sector after President Donald Trump floated the idea of more exemptions.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 3 points or 0.01 per cent at the open to 40,527.82. The S&P 500 rose 6 points or 0.11 per cent at the open to 5,411.99​, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 10.9 points or 0.06 per cent to 16,842.393 at the opening bell. REUTERS
