Pittsburgh Murder Suspect Killed in Jail Attack

Tyrone Good, a 44-year-old Pittsburgh man awaiting trial for the December 2025 killing of his girlfriend Michelle Sturdivant, was stabbed to death inside the Allegheny County Jail on Wednesday.

According to Allegheny County Police, the convict was assaulted by “multiple incarcerated people” who entered his jail cell. Tyrone was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Good had been held without bail for beating and burning his girlfriend to death. On Dec. 28 police, firefighters, and EMS workers arrived at a residence where they found an unresponsive adult female. Authorities at the scene said that the woman, later identified as Sturdivant, was found covered in a blanket.

An eyewitness told police that Tyrone arrived at the residence and was screaming for help. The witness saw Sturdivant lying naked on a walkway as Tyrone asked for help to get her inside the house. He also said that he rubbed ice and water on her body, but she did not wake up.

During an investigation into Sturdivant’s death, authorities found surveillance footage showing Tyrone dragging his girlfriend into the house and then leaving 16 minutes later.

Detectives also located an apartment where the suspect and victim had been staying. Upon searching the area, they found bloodstained clothes and Sturdivant’s purse in a trash bin.

According to WPXI, surveillance footage showed Tyrone discarding the items and dragging the victim’s body out of the building. An autopsy revealed Sturdivant’s cause of death to be blunt force injuries and extensive burns.

Police later charged Tyrone with homicide.

According to court records, cited by local media, Tyrone was scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing next week after his bail plea was rejected.

“Tyrone’s family is devastated by his death while in custody. They are in utter shock after receiving a call this afternoon that he had been killed,” defense attorney Casey White said.

Allegheny County Police said the investigation into Tyrone’s death remains ongoing.
