Singapore: 48-Year-Old Man Hospitalized Unconscious After Group Assault in Yishun, Police Launch Search for Suspects


A 48-year-old man was taken to the hospital unconscious after he was allegedly assaulted during a fight in Yishun on Friday evening, July 24, with police now searching for the other individuals believed to have been involved.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said on Saturday, July 25, that the officers were alerted to a fight at Block 243 Yishun Ring Road at around 8 pm. When they arrived, they found the injured man in a nearby carpark.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said the victim was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for treatment.

Witnesses Reportedly Saw Group Attack

According to Chinese-language newspaper Shin Min Daily News, blood stains were visible on the ground near a parking lot, while debris was scattered around the area following the incident.

The report stated that the attackers were believed to be part of a group of five to six people who fled the scene before police officers arrived.

Witnesses reportedly told the newspaper that several individuals were seen assaulting the man while he was lying on the road. The victim was said to have been bleeding from his face during the attack.

Police Continue Investigations

An employee at a nearby convenience store told Shin Min Daily News that a police officer had asked whether she had seen a man with blond hair pass by the shop, suggesting investigators are looking into the identities of those involved.

The police are continuing their investigations into the incident, and no arrests have been announced as of now.
