Jimmy Kimmel is not done laughing yet.
Following reports that the comedian’s late night show Jimmy Kimmel Live! will end after this season after 24 years on the air, ABC set the record straight, denying that the show has been canceled.
“This information is inaccurate,” an ABC Entertainment spokesperson told E! News Sept. 8. “Any reports about the future of the show at this point are purely speculative.”
E! News reached out to Kimmel’s rep but has yet to hear back.
In 2022, he signed a three-year deal that continued his show through 2027, though he oscillated on the decision.
“As you know, I was very intent on retiring right around the time where the strike started,” Kimmel, 58, said on the Strike Force Five podcast in 2023. “And now I realize, ‘Oh yeah, it’s kinda nice to work.'”
Joking about how he was going back and forth about retiring, he quipped, “I’m Tom Brady without any rings or any fingers.”
